Offshore Expansion

Have you outgrown your environment?

As companies mature and reach their saturation level within existing markets, the need to look to other states or countries for growth becomes paramount to their longer term survival.

In fact, without expansion it can be the start of your business going backwards as customer demands change and market requirements shift. No business can
stand still in the market if they wish to survive in the longer term.

The step into new markets can be fraught with danger and expense that has on many occasions also been the catalyst for companies going backwards as cash flow and capital is quickly vaporised. Whether you are small business or a large corporation those first steps into a new market must be handled correctly to avoid any longer term damage to your total business.

You may have identified markets that can be successful for you. You may have the funding for expansion and have put in place all the necessary trade requirements to make your first move. You may have formed alliances with companies off shore that will assist your growth or you may have considered hiring your own personnel to represent you in the new market. You are all set to go.

So why do so many companies fail?

Many companies place insufficient emphasis on the critical areas where their growth strategies will become a reality; at the coal face. They are reliant on third party distribution networks to deliver the results and have an ever increasing level of frustration as those results do not come to fruition. They realise after some time that many of those distribution networks are little more than names and locations rather than profit centres for their business.

They may have established a sales force utilising their existing personnel or hired new personnel to represent them in the new market. They are unaware of the depth of change required to meet those markets and are disappointed with the results that are being delivered. They are attempting to apply old business models to new markets and underestimate the sophistication of competitors and buyers in their chosen markets.

Or, it can be that they have just misunderstood the culture, market and customer demands of their new destination and the learning curve is proving to be far more costly and time consuming than ever anticipated.

Sales Focus International is assisting companies in their international expansion with particular emphasis on the North American marketplace. These companies are thriving and their growth is expediental.
